Another Three Challenges in One...

So many challenges...so little time! So I've combined three more challenges on this card: A Spoon Full of Sugar's 'Shape Shifter' challenge; the Daring Cardmaker's 'Circles' dare; and the One Stop Craft Challenge of 'No Designer Paper'. A group of crafty friends of mine, are going to exchange Easter cards, and as I need to make about 15, I've decided to make all of mine this cute little scalloped circle shape (cut using the largest scallop circle Nestie), as they're quick to do...not too much space to fill! The image is 'Totally Excited' by Penny black, the sentiment is a stamp by Hero Arts, and I used the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder on the plain green card.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge #5

The theme for The Sugar Bowl's fifth challenge is 'Christmas' - luckily one of the few Sugar Nellie stamps I own is a snowman one! I've coloured him to match the BasicGrey 'Figgy Pudding' papers, and have kept the card quite simple, as the image is fairly large, and the papers quite busy. The flowers are a mixture of Prima and Sarah's Cards Ltd, the parcel brad is by Dovecraft, and the lace is from Hobbycraft.

Penny Black meets ABC via Papertake Weekly

I've combined three challenges on this card: the theme of this week's Penny Black Challenge - 'Something to Eat'; with the theme of the ABC Challenge -'A Child's Card'; using the sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I've used 'Birthday Dog' as my main image, paper from the 'Cupcake' pad by BasicGrey, a sentiment stamp by Hero Arts (from the 'Anytime Messages' set), and some Papermania brads.

Colour Create Challenge #4

The colour combination for this week's Colour Create Challenge is 'Pink & Grey'...not a combination I'd used before, and after a rootle through my stash, I couldn't even find any suitable papers! Now, I'm a bit of a paper addict, and I honestly thought I'd got all eventualities covered! lol So, I decided not to use any patterned paper at all...shock horror!...and have used a couple of shades each, of pink and grey card. I ran a piece of each colour through my Cuttlebug, with the 'Swiss Dots' and 'Spots & Dots' folders, to add some texture. My main image is by 'Henry - Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy - I usually colour him brown, but I think he looks good in grey too. The optional extra this week is 'Cute & Cuddly'...well Henry is definitely cute, and he's cuddling a cupcake...
I've combined him with a sentiment from the Hero Arts 'Cupcakes' set, the flowers are from Poppicrafts, the grey brads are by Papermania, the heart-shaped brad is from Tescos, and the lace is from Hobbycraft.

Secret Crafter meets Daring Cardmakers

I've combined the sketch from the Secret Crafter Challenge with this week's Daring Cardmakers dare, which is to put a 'Fish or a Frog' on our cards...obviously I've gone for the frog option! lol
I've used a fab Penny Black image called 'Jump for Joy', and BasicGrey paper - I cut the diagonal the wrong way, so I had to rotate the sketch - oops! I added a few Papermania brads in place of the photocorners in the sketch, and a simple sentiment (from the Hero Arts 'Anytime Messages' set), as I didn't want this card to be too fussy.

BasicGrey Challenge #23

There's a choice of colour combos for this week's BasicGrey Challenge, and I've gone for Pink & Brown, so I could use this gorgeous Penny Black image ('Sweet Slumber') that I received in the post yesterday from my lovely friend Carol. The papers are a mixture of 'Blush' and 'Two Scoops', with one having been embossed with the Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' folder. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts, the flowers are from Poppicrafts (I think), and the cute little heart brad is from Tescos.

Friday Sketchers meets Forever Friends...

I've combined this week's Friday Sketchers sketch, with the theme of a 'General Birthday' card of the Forever Friends Challenge. As the paper (from the 'Sweet Nothings' pack by Papermania) is so busy, I've stuck quite strictly to the sketch - although I did add a couple of Prima flowers, as I felt it needed something in that corner to balance it out. The sentiment is from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts, and the buttons are from my stash.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 37

The theme for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is 'Get Well Soon', and I'm sure that at this time of year, we probably all know someone who's feeling a little under the weather. Stealing an idea from a couple of my favourite bloggers, Jo and Tara, I've used a Christmas stamp ('Xmouse Ornament!') for my image, masking off the snowflake before I stamped it, then adding a couple of Prima flowers in it's place. The paper is by Sandylion, the sentiment stamp is by Personal Impressions, and the lace is from Hobbycraft. I ran the blue panel through the Cuttlebug, with the 'Perfect Paisley' folder, then rubbed over the surface with my Versamark pad to highlight the detail, and then added a few adhesive pearls to the corners to finish it off.

Sketch Saturday #39

I've used this week's Sketch Saturday sketch to make a quick image wallet. I've kept it really simple as I needed to get the swaps in the post today...just made it in time!
I've used a Penny Black image - 'Gifts for you' and the paper is by Sandylion. I've used some yellow grosgrain ribbon to make some tabs behind the image, and the flowers (which match the paper much better in real life) are from Poppicrafts.

Another Three Challenges in One...

Wow! I can't believe how many challenges I've managed to enter this week...unfortunately I'll be back at school on Monday, but although I do have some bits'n'bobs to get done before then, I'm hoping to have a little play at the weekend. This card combines the 'Hugs & Cuddles' theme of the Charisma Cardz Challenge, with the colour combination of 'Green & Yellow' of the Dutch Dare Challenge, which is perfect for the 'Signs of Spring' theme of this week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge. As this is such a small card (cut with the largest of the large scalloped circle Nesties), I've kept it really simple. The image ('Squeeze 'til I Squeak') is from the 'Hugs' clear set by Penny Black, the yellow card is embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder, the flowers are from Poppicrafts, and the ribbon is from Hobbycraft.

Three Challenges in One...

I've managed to combine three challenges on this wallet card: the sketch from Stamp with Stampavie; the colour scheme, of blue & brown, of the ABC Challenge; and the theme of 'Love & Friendship' of the Roses on Paper challenge blog. I've used the 'Rainy Days' stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller, watercoloured to match the BasicGrey 'Granola' papers. The flowers are from Sarah's Cards Ltd, the brads are by Papermania, and the sentiment is from a cute little set by Studio G.

New Challenge...it's Truly Scrumptious!

There's a fab new challenge blog that launched yesterday called Truly Scrumptious, and they've got a great sketch for their first challenge, with some gorgeous creations by the DT too. I've used it to make a birthday card using one of my favourite Penny Black images (from the 'Critter Party' set). I've gone spotty dotty mad, with my Papermania papers (from the 'Sweet Nothings' pack), and 'Swiss Dots' embossing on the blue strip. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts 'Cupcakes' set, the flowers are from Poppicrafts, the brads are also by Papermania, and the multicoloured ribbon was part of a birthday gift from my lovely friend Pauline.

Just Christmas & Birthdays meets Colour Create

I'm back for more! lol I thought I might have a go at a Christmas card as well with this week's Just Christmas & Birthdays sketch, but this time I've combined it with the colour combination, of 'Red, White & Blue', for this week's Colour Create challenge (so no extra on this one). I've used my Sugar Nellie Snowman, and very carefully (still getting used to using a craft knife! lol) cut him out, so that I could mount him on a circle. I don't have suitable Christmas papers with me, so have embossed plain cardstock with the Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes' folder - I've also used 'Swiss Dots' on the light blue and white pieces. The sentiment is from a set by Three Bugs in a Rug, and the snowflakes were cut using one of the dies from the Cuttlebug 'Winter' set.

Friday Sketchers #39

I've rotated this week's Friday Sketchers sketch, to fit the image I wanted to use - 'Dream a Dream' by Penny Black. As it's still really grey and miserable outside, I thought I'd try to brighten things up with some 'spring' colours - the papers are from 'Two Scoops' by BasicGrey, and the green one has been embossed using the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder. The sentiment is from a little Studio G set, and the flowers are from Poppicrafts.

Just Christmas & Birthdays #19

I've used this week's Just Christmas & Birthdays sketch for a boys birthday card...I'm ahead with my Christmas cards, but I may come back and make one, as I really like this sketch. For my image, I've used 'Birthday Dog' by Penny Black...this was one of my first PB stamps, but I still love him! The papers are by BasicGrey (from the 'Blush' range), and I've embossed the plain one with the Cuttlebug 'Spot & Dots' folder. The sentiment is from a set by Hero Arts, the ribbon is from Hobbycraft, and I added a few Papermania brads to fill up some of the blank space at the top of the card.

A Spoon Full of Sugar meets Pink Elephant

I've combined the sketch for this week's Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge, with the theme of 'All that Glitters' from the Pink Elephant Challenge. My image is 'Dotted Petals' by Penny Black, which I've watercoloured, then added glitter to the centres of the petals. I've also added a few gems for a touch of bling. The backing papers are by BasicGrey, the patterned one is from the 'Perhaps' range, and the plain one, which has been embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Textile' folder', is from the 'Eva' pad. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts, the flowers are from Poppicrafts and the gem brad and adhesive gems are from my stash.

Mojo Monday 74

I've used this week's Mojo Monday sketch to make my Mother's Day card...I know it's not 'til next month, but I'm staying with my parents at the moment, and I wanted to leave it here, so that it doesn't have to run the gauntlet of Royal Mail! lol
I've used another Penny Black image, sent to me by the lovely Pauline, this time 'Hedgehog Joy'. The papers are by BasicGrey, from the 'Blush' range. The only slight deviations from the sketch are the crochet flower (from Poppicrafts) in place of the bow and sentiment, and the addition of the lettering (cut using the Cuttlebug 'Olivia' alphabet) at the bottom.

One Stop Craft meets BasicGrey

I've combined Sharon's fab sketch for the One Stop Craft Challenge, with the theme of this week's BasicGrey Challenge, which is 'Hearts'. The image I've used is a Sugar Nellie stamp ('Blossom' by Leanne Ellis). All of the papers are by BasicGrey - the one with lots of little hearts on it is 'Crush' from the blush range, and the other plainer papers (which have all been embossed with the Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' folder) are from the 'Sugared' and 'Two Scoops' pads. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp, and the flowers are a mixture from my stash.

Sketch & Stash Challenge #4

The new challenge over on the Sketch and Stash challenge blog is a real toughie. I found it really difficult to decide what to do, and to find two suitable images, and in the end settled for 'Henry - Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy, and one of the stamps from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts, with a candle added in the top to try to make it look the same as Henry's cupcake, on a square gatefold card. The sentiment stamp is from the same Hero Arts set, and although I chose to use 'yum!' rather than 'seize the cupcake!' (which really would have been perfect, but it was too big!), I still had to put the sentiment lower down on the card, so as not to cover any of the images. My 'new' item is the stripey paper (Blush - 'Boyfriend' by BasicGrey). I think that the flowers are from Sarah's Cards Ltd, and the brads are by Papermania.
